Virå complete kit (4000 SEK):
Basic materials + all bought details needed (Faulhauber motor, ball bearings, rivets for the valve gear, decals, wheels, whistle and more)

An extensive assembly description (in Swedish) with exploded views, drawings and photos is included.
Delivery in beginning of 1999 (with reservations for some of the bought items). Binding reservations at latest May 1998.

THE PROTOTYPE
The prototype was delivered to Stafsjö Railway in 1901 by Motala Workshop. Sister engines went to Nättraby Railway (NAEJ) and Munkedals Railway (MJ). ”Virå” has also served Ballangen mines in the northern part of Norway. She is now preserved by a museum association in Mariefred

PROPULSION
A coreless Faulhauber motor with a flywheel is used to drive the model. It is mounted on a rubber plate in order to minimise the transfer of vibration. A rubber band transfers the power to a worm gear with ball bearings. This system guarantees quiet running, a prerequisite as ”Virå” is prepared for sound. Thus there is space for a loud speaker inside the tanks. The digital decoders available on the market today are slightly too big to fit in the boiler, but it is only a question of time before they fit.

FACTS ABOUT THE MODEL
* Fully working Allan valve gear in stainless steel, cut out by laser
* Current pickup on all wheels, split-frame on the trailing axles
* Full cab interiors
* Scale speed 0 - 25 km/h
* Prepared for light and sound
